SATA power

Post by Paradroid » Sat May 26, 2007 9:58 am

Hey guys,
i have a computer hardware related question;
I bought a SATA harddrive. So my power supply does not have SATA power cables.
Now is there a difference between connecting to the SATA power socket, via a Legacy (Molex) to SATA adapter, and hooking up the Legacy power connector straight to the harddrive?
The harddrive has both types of power sockets.

yes, retail sata usually include an adapter i thought. if not, theyre pretty cheap and just plug into a regular ole molex plug...

if it has both types of plugs, then use whatever you already have.
