Cooler/HSF
Are any of you using the AC Freezer Pro64? If so, any thoughts, good or bad. My stock HSF does great in the winter and moderate during the summer. I'm looking to drop my cpu temps by a few degrees.

Re: Cooler/HSF
which cpu/socket? and what are your temps?
my s939/x2 4400 used to idle 36C and load 47C (not using C&Q) when i first built it. it's been getting progressively hotter the past 6 months or so. the fan seems fine and i blow all the dust out of it every 4 months or so. i'm wondering if the thermal paste is drying out and the heatsink is pulling away from the cpu since i leave my pc on 24/7. anyhow, now i idle at 36C and load at 55C (with C&Q). with C&Q turned off, i idle at 40C.
i was going to remove the hsf, clean it, apply new thermal paste, and reseat it. if i'm going to do this i may as well try a new hsf.

Re: Cooler/HSF
i think my temps are comparable to yours, if i remember correctly. i dont have any monitoring software reinstalled right now.
my cpu is am2/x2 5600. oh, and im not running quiet and cool either, assuming thats what that acronym is

ya, c&q is cool&quiet. i didn't start using it until a few months ago to help with heat. funny thing is i just tried coretemp and it's reporting much lower than speedfan. now i don't know which is right, lol. guess i'll have to fire up prime95 and see what happens.
with c&q, at idle it drops my multiplier to 5 (1.1ghz) and my vcore to 1.0v. under load it cranks the multiplier back to 11 (2.4ghz) and sets vcore to 1.35v. i haven't had any issues with it yet, so the newest driver must work better than the older ones.
