Valve is in the news lately

Post by Cobra » Sat Sep 28, 2013 10:06 am

I generally check Google tech news when I can and the last few days Valve has been showing a lot of new products. Possible a game console?
And this morning a prototype controller with no sticks.

I booted up steam the other day and it d/led new updates. I tried TFC and it kept dropping out due to something to do with grenades but I found a fix and managed to get into a game of 2 fort.
Dont feel right without the old NME, so I left.

yeahman, an open valve-developed OS based on linux, a controller and a console, all in the works...I believe all of which are to be open/hack-able, and even encouraged, lol.

I think they have even been allowing "sharing" of game libraries in certain circumstances.

:okay1:

I don't think they made a console, ony the SteamOS based on linux and the controllers. This is why most steam games now support a controller. They are going to brand certain hardware as "steam certified" meaning it should run all steam games well. This is also why they developed "big picture" so you can run your steam box on your big tv, like a console can, thus compete with consoles.

On another note, we may finally see HL3.
