A map suggestion

Post by EThantos » Thu Sep 26, 2002 2:55 pm

Why don't we put beerrun_1? That is a fun map to play with. Chug along kegs on your back. We need beer :drinking: so we can get drunk. WOOHOO.... that would be a fun thing to do.. Just having some fun... That is a good suggestion isn't it. Like to hear some opinions on this and other maps.

I've just d/l these maps from http://maps.mrsucko.org

Dusk
Tanis
Palermo (we need more daygo maps)

There are more maps on the site, but these ones caught my interest.

I'm planning on trying these out in single player mode before sending them to the FTP server.

Have any of you played these maps before? If so, comments please.

Doh! Can you say brain fart?!?! I forgot all about them. I wrote myself a note so I won't forget this time.

Also, I think we may have Dusk on our FTP server already.

Shortbus is fast and furious (especially with that killer party bus). A good choice for lotsa kills, so teamwork is crucial. I'd go for that. A little change in the rotation.

I've checked out these maps - Dusk, Palermo, and Tanis.

Graphics and design on these maps is awesome. All 3 maps are kinda big, but no bigger than Avanti (that is the map with cp4 in the church right?).

Tanis is a CZ2 style map. Take the flags to all CP's. Det packin' the plane or truck (depending which team) rests all CP's.

Palermo is like Avanti (again, if it's is the map with cp4 in the church). It's attack/defend and you have to move the flag from one CP to the next. It's got beautiful scenery, but don't try to jump off tthe edge of town into the ocean below... SPLAAAAAAAAAAT!

Dusk looks like it could be fun. It has goals to accomplish before you can cap the flag. 1. Det pack the bridge. 2. Throw the switch that releases the train. I thought it would be cool to ride the train, but alas, it crashes into a wall, bursts into flames, and I died. 3. Now you can cap the flag.

I think all maps would need at least 12 players. I didn't get a chance to check out all the tunnels that can be opened by a demo but there are some. I'd recommend at least checking these maps out locally just for the scenery if nothin' else.

and the next edition of Siskel and E-Bone...

i think ive lan'ed dusk by myself before...ur right, that one might be a lil involved, considering our track record with maps like scrummage and nuclear, etc, so that might have to be saved for a special playtest nite or soemhting like that, where we can gather a buncha folks who want to actually learn/explore a new map :infinity:

thanks

keep em comin' ya'll :pbt:

I've uploaded the maps for Tanis and Palermo to the private NME FTP server under the "new maps" directory if any of you want to check them out.
