Half-Life Expansion Paks

Post by [NME]T-Bone » Thu Aug 25, 2005 12:17 am

HL: Blue Shift is now available for peeps with the steam silver package or higher.

Another article pertaining to this and also the long awaited DoD:S being listed as coming in September.

"Next up is the original Half-Life Deathmatch ported to the Source Engine (the new engine we created for HL2 and the coming generation of titles coming from Valve). Then, later in September, Day of Defeat: Source will be made available," Lombardi told Tom's Hardware Guide.

wth...hldm:s is being released before dod:s, tfc:s (if applicable) and/or tf2 (if applicable)? theres already a hl2dm thats based on the source engine...doesnt that seem a hair redundant..? der.

yup, didn't quite undertand the need for hldm:s. ok, maybe for nostalgic reasons, but sheesh, at least get dod:s and the other more popular mods released first.

Anyone try this? I usually suck at games yet somehow I managed to finsish this game in 6-8 hours. I imagine this was only sold as a mini-mod to try and rake in some cash over the success of HL.

If you enjoyed HL, give this a try. It's much shorter and much less time is spent in xen and more time is spent on fighting the soldiers. You even get to see Gordon from time to time.

Yeah, I played it. I sure am glad I didn't spend money on it with how short it is. When it ended I was like,"Huh? That's it?" Probably took 4 hours total if that. It was fun though. Good free game. :okay1:

I picked it up from a "hipster" store called Five-Below...for $3.
I like it.

here's a lil tidbit on HDR...

according to the article/review, DoD:S will actually be the first HDR release, not the "Lost Coast" level... :surp:
