barn redo...

Post by boat » Sat Sep 10, 2005 7:53 pm

welp, if u havent noticed, the barn looks "default"...especially if any of u were using a template/style other than the default.

anyhoo, while i was trying to figure out while the barn was going...so...slow...lately, i decieded to upgrade everyhting that needed upgradin and also transfer everyting over to a new machine because i was thinking it was a hardware problem at the time. welp, after several days of beating it with a stick, i found out what the problem was and have also transferred everyhitng to a new machien, essentailly from scratch (thus hte vanilla looks). so im still working out the kinks, but for the most part i think everyhitng sohuld be running ok...if not, lemme know. thanks.

btw, if anyone's interested as to what the problem was...it had to do with a linked avatar that was nonexistent anymore <grumble>dict<grumble> :bad-words:   :-? :P

oh yeah: any posts or pm's after 9/8/05 are thusly lost due to the 8th being my last major backup during this whole process...sorry for the inconvenience  :-?

oh, and if anyone's interested in what upgrades/conversions were done...

hardware-
duron 750Mhz
256M ram (might stick in an extra stick from the previous barn though)

software-
freebsd 4.11
mysql 4.1.x
php 4.4.x
apache 1.3.x

the freebsd and mysql were the major upgrades this time around...oh, and phpbb was brought up to the lastest version. the hardware was actually a lil less than the current setup (1Ghz duron, 768M ram)

8) :) :P

... and the cow jumped over the moon. the little dog laughed to see such sport, and the dish ran away with the spoon.

can you really indirectly blame someone for something. I would think you either done did it, or didn't do a thang. In this case ...... the words/guilt will tell all. hehehe
